San Diego Learning Disabilities Association
LDA San Diego is affiliated with the Learning Disabilities Association of California (LDA-CA), and the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA). We are a part of a national, non-profit volunteer organization of parents, adults with learning disabilities and professionals.

     LDA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families, alleviating the restricting effects of learning disabilities, and supporting endeavors to determine the causes of learning disabilities. LDA seeks to accomplish this through advocacy, education, research, service and through collaborative efforts.

Options For Recovery Program
Options For Recovery (OFR)

Options For Recovery is a 5 day training program offered to foster parents and relative caregivers by the County of San Diego.  The training is provided by the Chadwick Center at Children's Hospital and is taught by professionals who have hands on experience in dealing with drug/alcohol exposed infants and children, ages birth to 5 years.  The graduate of this 5 day training will be entitled to 48 hours, per month, of paid respite care for their Options qualified children, when provided by approved respite providers. 

In addition, the Options For Recovery support group meets the first Wednesday of each month, September through June, at 6:30 p.m. at the HHSA Office, 8965 Balboa Ave., San Diego.  2 hours of training are provided each month on a topic relating to the care of drug/alcohol exposed children.
