Thank You to Mark & Arlene Fliegler of Old Fliegler's Farm Our families had a blast on our visit to your farm on March 28th. What a fun filled day. Thank you for sharing your farm, your home, your animals, the lesson on gardening, the craft project and lunch. We couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable adventure. Our families are so appreciative for all the hard work you put into making this day special for our kids.

Music Together Classes Our 4th 10 weeks session of "Music Together" classes begins April 4th. This amazing family music program uses music and movement to facilitate the musical development of children. Every child has the ability to keep a beat, sing in tune and participate in music with enthusiasm ad confidence. Thanks to Kara Howard of The Vocal Experience for this amazing class. Thanks to the Staples Foundation for helping us fund this class.
FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT AT TORREY PINES GOLF COURSE Thank You to all of our patrons who purchased $20 discount tickets to the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course!! This was a fundraiser made possible by The Century Club and we appreciate your support. Visit us again next year for your 1/2 price tickets. AND THANK YOU to The La Jolla Cove Suites and Bank of Southern California for allowing us to use your facility for a ticket pickup point. AND many thanks go out to our AMAZING FUNDRAISING TEAM that worked the 18th hole concession stand with us at the Tournament. It was a huge success and we could not have done it without you!!

DECEMBER 15 CHRISTMAS PARTY Our Options Christmas party was a huge success on December 15th. Thanks to everyone who helped us make this event a success and a special thanks to our very own "Santa Claus" aka Terry Robertson for again putting smiles on the faces of over 150 kids.
CTK APPRECIATION DINNER AND PAJAMA GIVEAWAY Thank you to Mission Hills Church and Leez PJ's 4 Kids for helping us show our appreciation to our event and fundraising participants at our CTK Appreciation party and Pajama Giveaway on December 9th at The Spaghetti Factory. DECEMBER 2ND RESPITE DAY Sunday, December 2, 2012. Thank you to The Church at Rancho Bernardo for hosting this much needed day of respite for our families. Our kids always have so much fun at your events. We appreciate you!!
November 10th - Foster Family Play and Respite Event Thanks to The Church at Rancho Bernardo for hosting lunch, respite and a presentation of "The Little Mermaid" for our families on November 10, 2012 Tutors Available for Foster Children Do you have a foster child that needs a tutor? Contact us and we can arrange for one. BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR FOSTER KIDS Do you have a school age foster child in need of a backpack and/or school supplies? Thanks to the generosity of some local community organizations we can help with this need. Contact us at information@connectedthroughkids.com to arrange a time to stop and get one. 5th Annual CTK Camping Trip was Fun Fun Fun!! Thanks to the Staples Foundation for a grant to help us fund this awesome annual event. Another fun camping trip as we headed out to Carpinteria State Beach July 28 - August 4 for 7 days that were filled with fun while soaking in the sun, watching dolphins and sea lions, lots of other outdoor animal creatures and watching the stars while we camped out!! Tide pools, hikes, biking, a very fun carnival day, Junior Rangers Program activities for the kids, new friends and so much more made this annual event a great vacation for our foster and adoptive families. Thanks to Kohl's Kares For Kids For providing helpers at our Options picnic on August 22nd. Over 200 Options foster family members attended this fun filled day at DeAnza cove at Mission Bay. THANK YOU TO THE SAN DIEGO PADRES Thanks to the Padres our families were able to enjoy outings to 3 Padre games during the 2012 baseball season. Our 5th Annual CTK Charity Golf Tournament was another success!! Thanks to everyone who participated or attended the golf tournament on Friday, May 4th. It was another successful tournament to help us raise funds for the operation of our resource center for families. Some of our Past Events: Annual Birthday/St. Patricks Day Party and BBQ Picnic Saturday, March 17, 2012 We had a blast!! Thanks to everyone who came out to join us. 68 birthdays, a record setting party!! In spite of the rain, we moved indoors to the Escondido Joslyn Center and even had a Mardi Gras Parade. This was a wonderful family event full of good good and socialization, games, crafts, flower planting, plenty of food, followed by cake and ice cream. Annual Whale Watching Trip The boat was full when it took off from the Oceanside Harbor for our annual whale watching trip on February 20, 2012. A great time was had by all. Thanks to Helgren's Sportfishing. Christmas Appreciation Party and Pajama Giveaway on December 10th, 2011 Families enjoyed a photo with Santa, gifts and stockings, new pajamas, decorated cookies and ornaments, made Christmas necklaces, played games, socialized and enjoyed lots of great food including a fountain overflowing with chocolate. Child and Babysitting Safety" Class for Teens Ages 11 and up Saturday, August 13, 2011, 2:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner provided 13 Teens participated in this excellent training and each one received a CABS booklet and starter first aid kit to take home. Upon completion of the course, participants also received a Babysitting Certificate and Pediatric CPR card. Thanks to Sue Lockhart of Lockart Training for this excellent training for our teens. A Day At Wild Rivers June 28, 2011 Amazing fun for kids and adults alike!! We spent the day sliding, floating in the lazy river, socializing under the cabana while watching the little kiddos splash in the toddler pool. Ahhh....fun in the sun. Foster Family Night Out May 22 at The Church at Rancho Bernardo Our families were treated to a presentation of The Wizard of Oz performed by church youth and then served a dinner by church members at The Church of Rancho Bernardo. Thanks to all of you who helped make this a great night out for our foster families. CTK Birthday Party & Picnic April 16th at Felecita Park We had a barbeque lunch and celebrated birthdays for those kids in foster families celebrating birthdays between October and April. 22 kids celebrated birthdays and each birthday child received a gift. It was a great day.
Skin Care Class for Teens April 11, 2011 Hope Baca, a former foster youth developed her own line of skin care products, Now There's Hope. She provided a skin care training at CTK for our teen girls and each girl received product to take home. Thank you Hope!!!
